How long does it take?
The time needed to apply for a British passport varies based on where the applicant lives. Under some circumstances, the process may take up to six months.
Fees:
If you are in the UK you can either:
- Apply online – £82.50
- Apply with paper form: £93.00
You will pay more for a 50-page passport.
Children under 16 will pay:
- £53.50 if they apply online
- £64.00 if they apply using a paper form
Children applying for a 50-page passport will pay a higher fee.
