Religious Worker Visa
You can apply for a Temporary Work visa as a Religious Worker if you meet the following requirements:
- you want to do religious work in a non-pastoral role or religious order
- you meet the other eligibility requirements
The T5 (Temporary Worker) Religious Worker visa has been replaced by this visa.
Sponsorship
In order to seek employment in the United Kingdom, obtaining a certificate of sponsorship from an authorized sponsor is an essential requirement prior to submitting your application.
Your sponsor’s specific undertakings must closely correspond to the work you carry out in the United Kingdom.
How long it takes
Your certificate of sponsorship for the UK indicates the specific date on which you can begin work, and this also determines when you are eligible to apply for a visa. You have the option to initiate the visa application process up to three months before this designated work commencement date.
Getting a decision
After submitting your online application, verifying your identity, and submitting your documents, typically you will receive a visa decision in a timely manner.
- If you reside outside the borders of the United Kingdom, then you shall wait for a duration of 3 weeks. However, if you are currently residing within the boundaries of the United Kingdom, the waiting period shall extend to a total of 8 weeks.
In case you have an appointment to attend and wish to expedite the decision-making process, there is an option available for you to consider. The method you choose, however, will vary depending on whether you are located within the United Kingdom or abroad.
